ACTS 20:1-6 Amplified Bible

1 AFTER THE uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples and warned and consoled and urged and encouraged them; then he embraced them and told them farewell and set forth on his journey to Macedonia.
2 Then after he had gone through those districts and had warned and consoled and urged and encouraged the brethren with much discourse, he came to Greece.
3 Having spent three months there, when a plot was formed against him by the Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he resolved to go back through Macedonia.
4 He was accompanied by Sopater the son of Pyrrhus from Beroea, and by the Thessalonians Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe and Timothy, and the Asians Tychicus and Trophimus.
5 These went on ahead and were waiting for us [including Luke] at Troas,
6 But we [ourselves] sailed from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread [the Passover week], and in five days we joined them at Troas, where we remained for seven days.

This chapter is about Paul's journeys in Greece. This Chapter is after the "uproar" at Ephesus so you should read Chapter 19. Paul called on the disciples to him and encouraged them. Then he left to go to Macedonia. You need to be in tune with God to make sure that plans should be changed. God will let you know. Paul knew how to manage his journeying time. He went to Greece or "Hellas,"and had given much exhortation and telling them to abide by the doctrines of the Gospel. Hellas is said to include Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, Achaia and other islands. While he was in Greece, Paul wrote the Epistle to the Romans. Paul accomplished a lot in those three months but there was also a rising opposition to what he was preaching. He stayed in Greece for three months and then returned through Macedonia since he found out that the Jews had plotted against him. They were possibly going to take the money he had earned for the poor/the church in Jerusalem, they were going to take his life or possibly both. His enemies were somewhat disappointed when he changed his plans. Paul was to sail to Syria but plans changed and he returned through Macedonia. He used the wisdom of God to change his direction. Keep on reading this Chapter and read about Paul and his journeys. Also read I and II Corinthians and Romans. It is so good to read the Word! Encourage your brothers and sisters to read and study the Word. Encourage them to do God's work. Blessings to you all!! Keep seeking God and listening to what He is saying.
