Isaiah 43:16-19 NIV

16 This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,
17 who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
18 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland

God had brought his people out of Egypt. He made a path for them to follow. God has also brought us out of many obstacles, problems, stumbling blocks this past year. Thank Him for what He has brought us out of but also see that He is doing a new thing. This is a new year! Thank you Jesus! Don't dwell on all your past problems. God is doing a new thing this year! It springs up! I love it! Just like a bud that is on a branch (the vine), it "pops" up. It asks in this Scripture - "do you not perceive it?" If He is doing a new thing, do we really grasp what He is doing? Are we able to discern what He is saying and doing for this "new thing?" Do not miss it this year. He is making ways for us to bud forth; to be in our positions and go forth with the Gospel. Even when things seem like they will not be fruitful, He will enter in and make it go forth so that He will be the one to be glorified. The rivers of anointing will come forth this year. Praise you Lord!! In the wilderness many souls will be thirsty. We can show them that Jesus can satisfy their thirst. There will be greater work done in Jesus' name.

God wants us to focus on the new work that He is going to do. If we are stuck in the past, it can keep us from the "new things" that God wants us to do. He wants us to stay in step with Him. There might be many things happening in the world but God wants us to not be afraid because He will provide and protect us. So we need to continue to move and listen to His voice because we could miss the "new thing" that He is going to do. As always stay in the Word, study and stay close to God.
