Colossians 3:15-17 The Message Bible

15-17 Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

I keep saying that it is so important to stay in God's Word. Lately I have been struggling to spend time with God and reading His Word. There are times when I pull away from God without even realizing it. Then one day I didn't feel the zeal and excitement anymore. I want it back! Knowing that it is in Him that I get my strength, I have started reading the Word and am going to spend time with God.
I have many journeys to go on and I need to be ready spiritually and even emotionally. I am saying emotionally because my feelings are getting in the way. I just need to get the excitement back. Sometimes I have my own itinerary and sometimes God changes plans and I need to be open to it. Lately I have left the busyness of work and trying to do things in my own strength get to me. I have not been seeking God to see what my next step was suppose to be. God was talking; I just was not listening. Yesterday Pastor Mike said that "the enemy is trying to get us off our mark; to get us off our purpose. But Satan cannot rob us of our purpose because of what Jesus did for us. He took care of it at the cross.
Last night I listened to a song by Jason Upton called "In His Presence." In that song is a verse that says"Father I'm returning to the things I use to do. Somewhere on this journey I think I lost hold of the truth. But nothing really satisfies like when You speak my name. So time me that You'll never leave and everything will be ok." I played that over and over. Because it is in His presence that is where we belong. So that is where I want to be ...in His presence and when I seek Him and enter in, then everything will be ok. So today I want to encourage everyone of you to seek Him and get in His presence and allow Him to speak to you, strengthen you and rest in Him. At the conference last weekend, Pastor Betty Phillips said to not just pray but to seek Him. That is what I am going to do. I thank God for everything that He is going to do in my life. He is my everything!
