Revelation 15:3 (New King James Version)

3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “ Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints![a]

Here's House Rule #9: Be True to Each Other. The Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb shows unity of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The Song of Moses is a corporate and not individual salvation (Genesis 3:15). It is about the triumph God parting the Red Sea and the miracles that happened. Moses knew God's ways. Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints - that is just so good! The Song of the Lamb is the victory over sin and that Jesus came to give us our salvation and the Glory of the Lord.

In the dictionary, the word "true" means 1. a. Consistent with fact or reality; not false or erroneous.
b. Truthful. 2. Real; genuine, 3. Reliable; accurate, 4. Faithful, as to a friend, vow, or cause; loyal.
5. Sincerely felt or expressed; unfeigned, 6. Fundamental; essential, 7. Rightful; legitimate. So this House Rule is to be true to each other. In Greek it's the word alethinos which means to be real, ideal, genuine. Are we truly "real" or "genuine" to each other in the Body of Christ or are we "fake" - nice to each other at church and then as soon as we walk out, we talk about each other? I have talked to many people lately about why they don't go to church. I almost always get the same answer - "church folk are fake and hypocrites. They talk about you behind your back, are very judgmental and talk about you worse than people who are in the world." Wow! Now that should be a wakeup call to all church folk!

I think we need to look into our hearts and find out if we are "true" to each other. Are we truthful, real, genuine, reliable, faithful, sincere to each other? If we are, then we are also "true" to God because He wants us to be like His Son, Jesus. He wants us to show His light to everyone. How can we do that if we are talking about each other, judging each other and just being plain old mean to each other? That definitely is not showing the light of Jesus Christ. Why would anyone want to come to church to endure that kind of treatment? They wouldn't. So the Body of Christ needs to get our act together so more people can come to know Jesus. These House Rules are so important. We have 3 more rules to go over. Let us check our hearts, read these Scriptures and talk to God about it.
