Hebrews 4:11-13 NIV
11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.
12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

This Scripture is so good. We should enter into God's rest so that it will strengthen our faith. There is a "great" rest in God that helps us so we will not fall. Sometimes we have to labor to get into His rest. When we are trying to get into our secret place with Him, we have to labor to get through all our emotions and cares of the day. We have to press in and forget about all the "stuff" we went through all throughout the day and just get to that place where we can just rest in Him. The Word is a two-edged sword and divides soul and spirit. It does not only give life but it cuts our flesh away. Always keep the Word of God ready so in the midst of other people, the Word will open up and repair their hearts. The Word helps us to make decisions. It is also dynamic! I heard somewhere before that the B-I-B-L-E is Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. That is just so true. We need to have the Word deep in our hearts so we can help to bring others to Christ. He judges everything that is in our hearts which is not of Him - the hidden things we try to keep inside. But God discerns everything is our hearts. The Word will also bring us into His presence. The Word of God is life. It has an effect on people who hear it.
