Matthew 28:16-20 NIV
The Great Commission 16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Wow - this is so good. The Great Commission - Jesus commissioned his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations so that others can go and preach the Good News. They were to baptize in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is about salvation and that anyone is welcome to come to Jesus Christ. Believers have the constant presence of our Lord - He is present with us at all times of the day and night. Jesus is saying to keep preaching the Gospel until everyone has heard it; in every corner of the world. This was not just for the disciples of that time but we are to continue the work. This is part of the missionary work but there is still more. Part of the Great Commission is to also teach the people - teach what He has commanded us to do - teach His Word. There are also encouragements that are also to go forth. One of the encouragements is the power of the Word. Another one is that He will be with us all the days "even to the end of the world."

So we are to do the Great Commission also. Go and be aggressive - do warfare! Be in the army of God! We are commanded to go. We are not being asked - we are commanded. How sad that some people think that the Great Commission is just too great a cost. Yes it will cost us something; however, it is worth it all. Yes some people will doubt us and yes some people will even make fun of us or get angry at us but it is all worth it. Jesus is worth it all. Remember He suffered and died for us so we could have salvation. There is no greater sacrifice than that. So go to all nations, all people and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
