Psalm 121 NIV
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Look up to God - our help comes from only Him. He is the creator of heaven and earth. Look above the hills, that's where He is. When difficulties and troubles come our way, we can find comfort in Him. Our help always comes from Him although it's in His time and not ours. Sometimes we want to hurry Him but He knows what is best for us. When we pray to God, we lift up our eyes to Him. No matter what is happening, stand on His Word, look up to the heavens - to God who is the most High over all the earth. Our help does not come from men but only the one and true God. No matter what we are going through, He has promised that He will comfort us and give us strength to carry on. The Lord keeps our feet from falling.
David trusted God to protect Him at all times. He knew the battles would be extremely tough but He also knew that God could see him through it all. Even though David sometimes stumbled through his life and made mistakes, he knew God was always there for Him. His strength came from the Lord. He was in the shadow - in the shade. He was in the shade to escape the heat. When things start heating up in your life - the troubles, the things that happen that you just don't understand what is going on; the heat that is so hot that you feel you are going to be scorched, He will keep you close to Him under the shade. God will guide us.
Look up for hope, expect God to lead us, comfort us, guide us. Help will reach us in due time. He is never late; He never slumbers or sleeps. Even though our paths may be difficult and dangerous at times, if we stand fast, hold on to Him, He will see us through. God is a faithful God and we must rely upon Him. So look up to Him and believe that He will comfort you and that He will keep your feet immovable (that you will be able to stand) even though the enemy might be nipping at your heals. Look up to Him - He is our source of all strength and help.
