Matthew 11:25-30 New Century Version
25 At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the people who are wise and smart. But you have shown them to those who are like little children.

26 Yes, Father, this is what you really wanted.
27 "My Father has given me all things. No one knows the Son, except the Father. And no one knows the Father, except the Son and those whom the Son chooses to tell.
28 "Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest.
29 Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives.
30 The burden that I ask you to accept is easy; the load I give you to carry is light."
This is such a good Scripture (as they all are)! Are you tired, burned out at all or just plain old worn out? Then come to Jesus! In Verse 25, Jesus starts praying to His Father and thanking Him for just being God. He thanks Him for hiding these things from the wise and giving them to babes - the believers. The wise were wise in secular things but not in spiritual things. Jesus is thanking His Father that everyday people and not just the Jewish leaders were receiving the Word. He is praising His Father for being a great and awesome God. So too we should be grateful and praise our God. The Father put into His Son's hands all power, authority and judgment. We should be thankful to Jesus for all that the Father revealed to Him and reveals to whoever He chooses. Sometimes we burden ourselves with so many problems and even other people's problems. Jesus is saying come to Him and He will give us rest. Sometimes when we sin, we feel so guilty and don't want to come to Jesus. He invites us all to come to Him so don't wait. Accept his invitation and get true rest...rest in Him. Then we will obtain peace. The thing is we have to be willing to accept it. We must learn all things from Him - comfort and obedience. God wants all men to be saved but we have to forget our will and come into His perfect Will. Let Him strip us down of all our fleshly things and then we can truly be healed emotionally, physically and spiritually. Shake off the yoke and take on His yoke which will be easy and light. There will be commands but it will not hurt us; it will actually help us to be refreshed. Come - submit to Jesus - become His disciple. Come under Jesus wing and He will give us true rest. I encourage you to come to Jesus, lay down your burdens at His feet - take hold of faith and He will give you spiritual rest, peace of mind and grace.
