1 Thessalonians 4:18 (NIV)

18Therefore encourage each other with these words.

This is #6 of the House Rules - Comfort One Another. You should actually read Verses 13-18. This was Paul's presentation of end time events. Back in those days, believers wondered if those who had already passed away would be able to be involved in the awesome events that would come with the second coming of Jesus Christ. Paul assured them that they would be able to be involved. In the 18th verse, Paul wants us to encourage and comfort one another in the knowledge that we will be involved in some way with the second coming of our Lord & Savior. Encourage one another to live a holy and acceptable life.

In verse 16 it says "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. " According to one of the commentaries I read, the word "shout" used in this verse signifies an encouragement that mariners gave to one another when they put together one shout (in unity) to put forth their oars and row together, as one, to move forward in a unified and progressive manner. So cheer each other on and encourage each other to move forward in a "unified" manner with the Body of Christ. Luv ya all!! Blessings!!

Many blessings to you all and have an awesome weekend!
