Psalm 145:1-9 New Century Version
Praise to God the King
A psalm of praise. Of David.
Praise to God the King
A psalm of praise. Of David.
1 I praise your greatness, my God the King; I will praise you forever and ever.
2 I will praise you every day; I will praise you forever and ever.
3 The Lord is great and worthy of our praise; no one can understand how great he is.
4 Parents will tell their children what you have done. They will retell your mighty acts,
5 wonderful majesty, and glory. And I will think about your miracles.
6 They will tell about the amazing things you do, and I will tell how great you are.
7 They will remember your great goodness and will sing about your fairness.
8 The Lord is kind and shows mercy. He does not become angry quickly but is full of love.
9 The Lord is good to everyone; he is merciful to all he has made.
I just love Psalms! The beginning of this Psalm says a lot. David always praised God, his King, for His mercy and His goodness. When we have troubles and tribulations, we can praise God because we know He will give us the victory and true joy. He hears our praises and He answers our prayers. God is full of compassion and has great mercy so much so that we can't even understand just how great He really is. We will tell our children all that He has done for us and they will retell them to their children...how awesome is that?! I can just hear David singing this Psalm to the Lord. God turns our prayers into praises. David knew who he was; he knew he was a praiser.
Let us just love on the Lord today and praise Him forever and ever because He is truly worthy of all our praises. He has so much love for us. God's Kingdom is everlasting and His love for us is everlasting. He has so much compassion that He sent His only Son to die on the cross so we could have salvation. When we are praising God, we are showing our affection for Him. Let us give Him our own personal praises - give Him a daily praise for He is truly good. Be enthusiastic, be loving, be personal, lift your hands up and most of all just praise Him for who He is!
