Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
I thought I would continue with the Fruit of the Spirit today. The 2nd Fruit of the Spirit is joy. The other day I talked about joy so I won't say a whole lot about it. True joy comes from having Jesus in our lives. In Nehemiah 8:10 it says "the joy of the Lord will make you strong."
The third Fruit of the Spirit is peace. Sometimes when someone talks about peace (especially when there is a war already going on) we think about no more war. But the peace of the Spirit is when we really get to know God. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). In Colossians 3:15 it says "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." Jesus said in John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." With peace we can be assured that we are His children and He will take care of us. He gives us peace right in the middle of times that may be rough. Peace is being calm even when everything is raging around us. Just knowing that God gives us peace in our hearts is awesome. Fear and worry rob us of peace. When we worry our focus is on ourselves instead of God. Just remember God has everything under control. Knowing Him will give us peace on the inside. Thank Him today for His true peace.
